Surrealist Folk-Rock on Western Spaghetty.
Rocky Deserts is inspired on small desert-like tracks in Gerês, a mountainous region in the north of Portugal, with peculiar landscapes, some quite inhospitable, where antropomorphus rocks, a generous biodiversity and diligent people cohabit in a rustic way of living.
The desert requires the absence of something, "WE´RE A LITTLE LOST" is asking for directions not without the saturation and the exuberance of a western ballad with cinematographic blessing such as the movie "Pat Garret & Billy the Kid".
"THE DESERT´S UNIQUE THOUGHT" is very experimental, pure Rock N´Roll and Folk Banjo rising curiosity for "NOW WE´RE ON OUR WAY", this one is beggining "In A Silent Way" (M. Davis) but full of "Colours" (Donovan) and then "Bringing It All Back Home" (Bob Dylan) with various riffs resembling to Led Zeppelin, Donovan and Jean Luc-Ponty.
There´s a psichadelic ambience in "THE STONE GARDEN DOOR" full of riffs, somewhere between Simon & Garfunkel and ZZ Top with chords creating a David Crosby atmosfere.
I can hardly describe the sensation from "HERMANO LOBO", with influences from Celtic music, Fairport Convention, Donovan, and Pentagle with beautyfull guitar phrases.
"FOLLOW YOUR SNAKE", with D. Crosby, J. J. Cale chord style and Jonh McLaughlin, M. Davis, Fairport Convention, Sandy Deny and Nina Hagen tones is a challange taking it´s own path.
The beatific solitude that "FROM NO ONE TO NO ONE" expresses, is an oasis in the middle of this desert under the influence of Robert Whyatt.
Intriguer "ALMOST HOLLOW MIND" strong flamenco melodies in a Joni Mitchell and Jonh McLaughlin chords style.
Opening sights with a riff from Siouxie & The Banshees to the harmonics of "CROSS VALLEYS" almost in a Fado mood.
The narrative of "FACES AND HEADS IN THE ROCKS" settle with the Classic Guitar and Folk Banjo, Tedesco influences in an extrovert and ordinary Pop Country.
Now, a wild adventure like "THE ROC ALBA´S CONQUEST", in a barren land to be fulfilled with pilgrimage or death, could only be achieved in a classical way, with the magic of J.S.Bach and renaissance lutes, under Jonh McLaughlin influence.
Not truly a desert after all because full of life, joy and colours with "THE GREEN LANTERN", rejoice with Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash ambiences.
For an happy ending: "AMARILLO TULAROSA" and this is a golden end theme, another magical western with D. Crosby, Jetrho Tull and ZZ Top tuning, a Psychedelic jewel in the same glorious sunshine style of "Farwest Ballad" the 12nd theme from the third album by Dekrypton Joel: "Kryoptonite for Dreamers".
And one Bonus Track: "LARRY & JOHN (ONCE UPON A TIME)" in tribute of the pioneer fusion guitarists: Larry Coryell and John McLaughlin (Spaces) with a couple of riffs resembling to Jean Luc-Ponty.
There are no empty deserts. There are no deserts at all in the Iberian peninsula, only the Spanish province Almeria, in the Andalusia region, with a landscape that resembles the old American West that we all know from John Wayne to Clint Eastwood and Italian westerns.

Notes
Recorded: Oct. - Nov. 2009
Surrealist Folk-Rock, Psychedelic Country-Classical-Jazz, this fifth album by Dekrypton Joel is something apart from everything else, developing trends already known but not His dominant trends, the Classical Guitar, Flamenco and Jazz.
In this album He explores the wild territories of the Far West and this could be the soundtrack of a Spaghetty Western or a repository of fragments from years ago of Experimental Folk Rock, Country & Western recorded by Dekrypton Joel, in guitar-trio-style.
Guitars: Washburn Stephan's Cutaway (in all tracks)
Washburn J6 and Yamaha electric cutaway classic (in "AMARILLO TULAROSA")
Digital recordings: Boss BR8
